So i’m driving around town the other day and I see a cool mini billboard on the side of a building…
…A pretty basic Ad for ESPN Monday Night Football that reads “Is It Monday Yet?” At a redlight i was able to notice that it was actually printed on Astroturf with that white on field type paint that you’d see on a football field! Pretty cool stuff. I absolutely love this ad. The astroturf was a nice touch and serves as a pretty fun tactile 2nd read. Can you call it an “Easter Egg” if its right in front of you? Anyways as a big football fan who’s excited about the season (but could care less about preseason) (I went back and took some more detailed shots.
This type of ad makes A LOT more sense in a place like NYC where people are walking and you get a chance to actually experience the image on a first and second read kinda situation. This ad is kind of out of place and rendered useless by its location. On the side of a crappy dry cleaner building at an intersection where no one really ever walks around. An obvious victim of bad ad space buying. Then again, this thing got me to make a U turn, park my car get out and take pictures so i guess it works.

Seems like a good space for advertising if you saw it, it made you get out of your car, and take photos of it. Very cool ad.
